In 1991, she finally left teaching to become a full time writer. It wasn’t that the books were very romantic, but she always felt that every romance book she read was full of historical errors or relationships which she thought were implausible. Besides this, she was also influenced by the books that she read. Through writing, she found it easier to pay for the both boys college fees. Her passion for writing began when she thought that her salary as a teacher wasn’t enough to educate her children who were in college by then. They later joined one profession that was teaching and about fifteen years later, she taught her family while staying at Amarillo High School. Her husband served in the United State Army and despite this, it was never a barrier for the couples to travel to different parts of the world. Jodi Thomas got married to Tom Kaumalats and they have got two sons. She holds a Master’s degree in Family Studies. After Jodi Thomas spent some time in Texas, she later moved to Lubbock where she attended the Texas Tech University. This is because her grandmother was born in Texas in the covered wagon. She was born in Amarillo, Texas and is a fifth generation Texan. Jodi Thomas is one of the top rated American author who writes on the historical romance novels.
